		<description>Hi Jon,

What an interesting site- it looks like you’ve got a great mix of different topics! I’m writing because I thought you and your readers might like to know about a project that, like your group, celebrates the connections and conversations that build communities.

Tens of thousands of everyday Americans have interviewed their loved ones through StoryCorps, the largest oral history project of its kind. Each conversation is recorded on a free CD to take home and share, and is archived for generations to come at the Library of Congress. Millions listen to our award-winning broadcasts on public radio and the Internet. A story from our paperback book, “Listening Is An Act of Love,” about a hospital chaplain’s experience blessing the hands of her coworkers, was broadcast this morning. You can listen at:
http://www.storycorps.net/listen/stories/janet-lutz-and-her-friend-lori-armstrong.

I’m writing because as the holidays approach, we hope to promote listening as one of the most meaningful and least expensive gifts one can give, and thought your site, with its emphasis on community, might be especially interested in this. Our website, www.storycorps.net, contains tips for recording a conversation with a loved one with materials already found in most homes. Pairing a recording of a conversation with “Listening Is An Act of Love” adds a meaningful touch to gift-giving, and gives that special someone even more incredible stories to read!

Best wishes for the New Year,
Amy
